The 2021 American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) annual meeting will begin on June 15, 2021, and be available for viewing online until August 31, 2021. Based on guidance received from local officials and in consideration of existing travel bans and the overall health and safety of our conference attendees, staff, industry partners and vendors, AANP has opted to offer an online conference.

Conference Objectives

The mission of AANP is to empower all NPs to advance quality health care through practice, education, advocacy, research and leadership. Through the annual national conference, AANP will:

  • Provide expert faculty presentations of current, practical, clinically oriented and evidence-based practice information that considers the roles of all NPs; addresses a diversity of topics and presenters; and reflects the diversity of the NP community and of the patients they serve.
  • Provide opportunities for advanced education through state-of-the-art, skill-enhancing workshops and the latest, evidence-based research.
  • Discuss current global, national, state and local legislative, regulatory and practice issues that affect NPs, providing actionable insight and tools to effect positive change.
  • Provide national and international opportunities for collegial networking with NPs of all practice settings, therapeutic areas and backgrounds.
  • Provide opportunities to enhance cross-cultural intelligence and increase self-awareness through inclusive, culturally competent clinical sessions.

Participants’ who choose to register for AANP 2021 can expect to:

  • Select from more than 100 on-demand CE sessions featuring some favorite conference speakers. These courses can be viewed on your schedule throughout the entire conference period: June 15-August 31, 2021.
  • Watch several live events, scheduled during the conference period, including the keynote speaker Cindy McCain: Humanitarian, Business Leader and Chairperson, The McCain Institute.
  • Find opportunities to connect and network with your friends and colleagues via the dedicated attendee forum.

CE and Live Session Information

AANP will offer both on-demand and live sessions for CE credit throughout the meeting. There are more than 100 to choose from, equating to more than 100 contact hours of credit. Some of the on-demand sessions that can be viewed at any time until August 31 include:

Additional Perks of the Meeting

Posters will be available for viewing throughout the duration of the conference. Attendees can view more than 80 posters that feature the latest evidence from the field as well as many posters from industry leaders. 

Some sessions provide handouts for attendees to follow along. To access handouts for the sessions in which you are registered, navigate to the information page of each individual CE session. In order to receive full CE credit,  attendees are required to complete an evaluation to receive CE credit for online or enduring activities. All 2021 AANP National Conference sessions that award CE credit will require the passing completion of an evaluation before a certificate of completion is awarded.

Despite the meeting being virtual in nature, AANP offers many ways for attendees to network. A virtual forum–included for all attendees–allows participants to send a message to friends, respond to others’ posts, discuss your favorite CE sessions, and share practice pearls or fun stories. AANP will also host Community Sessions, 1.0-contact hour on-demand CE sessions that provide information on key updates, emerging issues, innovations and hot topics within each Specialty Practice Group (SPG) and Specialty Interest Group (SIG).

Registration Information

The 2021 AANP National Conference registration period ends on July 30, 2021. All sessions are available to registered attendees through August 31, 2021. Registration is available to both members and non-members. Any questions regarding registration can be directed to the AANP conference contact.
